Bruce Patrick Hart

AIKEN - Mr. Bruce Patrick "Pat" Hart, 68, died Sunday, May 27, 2012.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday in Sunset Memory Gardens with the Reverend Neal Flowers officiating.

Mr. Hart was born in Raleigh, NC, a son of the late Richard "Dick" and Ruth Sullivan Hart. He was a graduate of Aiken High School and attended USC Aiken. He served with the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam crisis.

He worked various careers including serving as a fireman for the Aiken Department of Public Safety. He grew up in Millbrook Baptist Church where he was a choir member and Sunday school teacher. His talents in his younger years gave him the lead role as the leprechaun in the Aiken Community Playhouse production of "Finian's Rainbow". Pat was well known for his smile, his humor and joy for life.

Survivors include his three children, Nathanael (Stephanie) Hart, South Cairo, NY, Leah (Joshua) Snowden, Catskill, NY, Joshua Hart, Leeds, NY; two grandsons, Ethan and Aiden Hart; brothers Michael (Jeannie) Hart, Lexington, SC, Danny (Candace) Hart, Aiken; sister Linda (Warren) Lucas, Aiken; numerous nieces and nephews. The family acknowledges with gratitude the loving care and concern of an extended family members, John and Nancy Verenes McMichael.

Memorials may be directed to the Savannah River Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 3694, Aiken, SC 29802.
